On 12 September 2017, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan in collaboration with the AEON 1% club, hosted the welcome party of the Cambodia and Japan Teenage Ambassadors at the Embassy with the participation of many distinguished guests.
Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan held the “Khmer Speech Contest” on 14 October 2017 at the Embassy.The Contest, designed for only Khmer-speaking Japanese people, was aimed at promoting and encouraging Khmer-language using in Japan.Mr. Yukio Saita, Director of First Southeast Asia Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan; Prof. Dr. Yoshiaki Ishizawa, Director of Sophia-Asia Center for Research and Human Development; Mr. Hayato Negoro, President of Overseas Network Co. LtD and the Official Representative Officer of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia in Japan; and Professor Kayoko Hayasi, Executive Director and Vice President of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, graced the Awarding Ceremony and Reception of the Khmer Speech Contest with their presence. Around 70 people attended the Awarding Ceremony and Reception which served the invited guests with Cambodian food. The participants also enjoyed Khmer dancing at the end of the event.
On 21 July 2017 at the invitation of H.E. Mrs. Akie ABE, Spouse of Japan Prime Minister Shinzo ABE and Chairman of the Foundation for Social Contribution, H.E. Ambassador CHEA Kimtha attended “ the Award Ceremony for Social Contribution of 2017” At the Imperial Hotel Tokyo.
On the special Occasion, Ms. Haruna Yoshioka of the International Medical Volunteers Japan Heart received the award for Social Contribution for her work in Cambodia.
On 11th July 2017, H.E. Ms. Chea Kimtha, Ambassador of Cambodia to Japan, together with other Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States attended the luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Foreign Minister of Japan, at Iikura Guest House, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
