Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan, Cambodian Community in Japan and Cambodian Students Associations in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia held the “Cambodia Festival 2017” on 3-4 May 2017 at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo, Japan, with a great success.
The Festival was aimed at raising awareness of Japanese people and tourists about Cambodian culture and custom through the introduction of Khmer traditional dances, songs, various products and food tasting.
The Cambodia Festival 2017 was participated by Japanese dignitaries, such as H.E. Mr. Hisayuki Fujii, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and H.E. Mr. Kenji Kitahashi, Mayor of Kitakyushu City.
The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan with the support of the ASEAN- Japan Center organized the “Seminar on Promotion and Attraction of Japanese Visitors to Cambodia: Kingdom of Wonder” on 31st March 2017 at the Embassy in Tokyo.
There were approximately 120 participants in the Seminar, most of them coming from Japanese tour companies.
H.E. Ambassador Chea Kimtha delivered welcoming remarks and updated the Cambodia-Japan relations, the current development of Cambodia, such as political and economic situation, and tourism sector in Cambodia.
The Further awareness and promotion of Khmer culture and custom, and tourism potentials in Cambodia were made through the slides presentation in order to attract Japanese visitors to Cambodia, Kingdom of Wonder.
The Embassy also prepared and introduced Khmer food to the participants in the seminar.
On 15th March 2017, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan in cooperation with ASEAN-Japan Center organized the “Cambodia Network Gathering” at the ASEAN-Japan Center Hall.
There were about 200 participants from the Japanese companies attending this important event.
In the Gathering, H.E. Ambassador Chea Kimtha delivered welcome remarks, sharing the updates of current development of Cambodia, such as political and economic situation, and investment and business opportunity in Cambodia.
Mr. Masataka Fujita, Secretary General of ASEAN-Japan Center, H.E. Mr. Yuji Kumamaru, Former Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia and a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Fumiaki Takahashi, Former Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia and President of Japan-Cambodia Association, graced the event with their respective remarks about the current development of Cambodia.
Besides, Mr. Motoya Okada, President, Group CEO, AEON Co., Ltd, was present in the Gathering to make impressions of investment environments in Cambodia.
On 10 March 2017, H.E. Ambassador Chea Kimtha presided over the Introductory Reception of Cambodia Festival 2017 at the Embassy, which will be held on 3-4 May 2017 at Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, Japan.
The purposes of the Reception are to express thanks to Japan companies who sponsored Cambodia Festival 2016 and request their continuous sponsorship as well as appeal to the new companies to support Cambodia Festival 2017 for a great success.
There were more than 100 guests from Japanese Companies. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan also attended on that occasion.
