As COVID-19 has spread globally, on 11 March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic. Additionally, on 13 March 2020, WHO said Europe is the epicenter of the pandemic while several countries introduced state of emergency.

In line with the decision made by the Royal Government of Cambodia on March 14, 2020, to introduce initial pre-cautionary measures to contain this spread, the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to Japan wishes to regrettably announce a temporary suspension of entry into Cambodia, for the next 30 days, for foreigners from following countries:

  • France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United States of America: Effective from March 17, 2020 at 00:00 (ICT, UTC +7);
  • Iran: Effective from March 18, 2020 at 00:00 (ICT, UTC +7).

Measures on Visa issuance at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Tokyo:

  1. For those who possess a passport issued by the 6 countries above, the Embassy will not issue any entry visa for them during this travel restriction.
  2. For other nationalities who have traveled from the 6 countries above within the last 14 days at the time of application, they must inform Embassy’s officer at the consular office.
